Advance Excel for Accounting
Excel skills for accounting professionals.This course includes a detailed study of advanced accounting using the Excel spreadsheet package. Topics include the use of advanced functions and formulas of Excel with emphasis on accounting as a financial analysis tool.This course has been designed specifically for accounting and finance professionals who have a good grasp of Excel, but want to take their skills to the next level in order to achieve the automation they know is possible. Course will focus on features and techniques for using Excel to solve common accounting problems. Students will work with advanced spreadsheet features including formatting, formulas, functions, charts and tools.
Course Objectives
- Increase speed and accuracy by utilizing shortcuts and specialized techniques
- Design a spreadsheet utilizing a wide range of advanced functions to summarize and analyze data
- Design effective business forms and reports using advanced Excel features
- Create meaningful charts and graphs
The projects in this course assume that students already have a working knowledge of basic Excel features, including:
- Creating new workbooks; saving, opening and closing workbooks
- Moving around in a workbook; selecting a range of cells
- Entering data into a worksheet; editing data
- Formatting cells, including number formats, fonts, borders and shading
- Hiding rows/columns; changing row height & column width
- Simple formulas
- Simple charts
- Page setup and printing
